  There are three main ways to get there: 1) Direct bus to the resort (such as the ski resort liner that operates in winter) - approximately 3 hours with no transfers, reservations required in advance. This is the easiest and most recommended option for skiers with lots of luggage. 2) JR - Take the Hakodate Main Line and Chitose Line to Kutchan Station or Niseko Station. Approximately 3 to 3.5 hours. There aren't many trains, so check the timetable. 3) Rental car - approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. In winter, rental cars come standard with winter tires, but if you're not used to driving on snowy roads, the bus is a safer option.
