DAY 12

Using 〜たい directly with a boss ('早く帰りたいです。')
CAUSE Literal translation of 'I want to'
FIX Add 〜んですが… at the end to soften: 早く帰りたいんですが… — it lets the manager respond without you demanding.
Saying 'he wants to go' as 行きたいです (he)
CAUSE 〜たい feels like a neutral verb to an English speaker
FIX 〜たい is for your own desire only. For others, use 〜たがっています, or just ask them directly.
Asking a favor with the plain command:
CAUSE ください works, but can be flat with a senior
FIX 〜てもらいたいんですが… is softer and more respectful, especially for a one-off ask.
