比較する ― 〜より〜のほうが・〜が一番〜

なぜ学ぶか

客からもスタッフからも『どのスキー場がおすすめ？』『どのラーメンが一番おいしい？』を毎日聞かれます。『2つで比べる』型と『3つ以上で選ぶ』型を押さえれば、ニセコの地元案内役になれます。

2つを比べる: 〜より〜のほうが〜

A より B のほうが C（A よりも B の方が C だ）

よくある落とし穴

Translating 'more than' as 以上

CAUSE Dictionary says 以上 = 'more than'

FIX 以上 is for numbers (18歳以上 = 18+). For comparing two things, use 〜より. 『Aより高い』, never 『A以上高い』.

Using どちら for 3+ options

CAUSE どちら sounds polite and general

FIX どちら is strictly for pairs. For 3+, use どれ (things) or どこ (places).

Saying 一番の [noun]

CAUSE English 'the best X' feels like 一番 should attach to the noun

FIX 一番 is an adverb modifying the adjective. 『一番おいしいラーメン』 (the tastiest ramen) is correct; 『一番のラーメン』 is marginal unless you mean 'my #1 ramen'.
